Apple renames Apple ID to Apple Account for a better sign-in experience across all Apple devices and services.
The change rolls out alongside the releases of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 18, visionOS 2, and tvOS 18. The rebranded Apple Account “relies on a user’s existing credentials,” so users won’t have to update passwords or anything, said Apple in its blog post.
In addition to announcing the rebrand to Apple Account, the company also highlighted several new features coming to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch.
Apple Maps introduces new features for iOS 18, such as detailed hiking routes for exploring national parks and the ability to create custom walking paths. Users can save favourite routes and add personal notes in the new Places Library.

Apple Fitness+ will feature a redesigned interface aimed at keeping users motivated and consistent with their workouts. The update will include personalised recommendations, an Explore feature for discovering new activities, and improved tracking of favourite workouts and meditations.
Apple Music will introduce SharePlay enhancements, enabling more users to share control of music playback on Apple TV, HomePod, or Bluetooth-enabled speakers.
Lastly, Apple TV will introduce InSight to provide real-time information about actors, characters, and music during Apple TV+ shows and movies. The tvOS 18 update will also bring enhanced subtitle functionality and dialogue clarity using computational audio and machine learning.
