Plans are underway for The Warehouse and Noel Leeming to launch brand‑new store locations in the Northland region next year.
Both outlets are slated to open in mid‑2027 and will be positioned next to each other at a retail park on Molesworth Dr, situated between Mangawhai and Mangawhai Heads.
The Warehouse outlet is expected to span approximately 4,000 sqm, while the Noel Leeming store will cover around 750 sqm.

According to the Warehouse Group’s chief operations officer, Ian Carter, establishing stores in the fast‑growing Mangawhai township was a strategic decision. Carter said that local demand for a value‑focused retailer supported the move and that the new sites would offer quality, high‑value shopping for both residents and vacation visitors.
“Locals want a value retailer in town, and this allows us to not only provide great value locally but employ locally,” Carter said.
“We expect there will be strong demand from local whānau and residents as well as holidaymakers for great quality, high-value shopping – whether that’s for the beach, the bach or school.”
Noel Leeming’s chief executive officer, Jason Bell, described the openings as “extra special” because they represent the brand’s entry into a “completely new town.”
“We can’t wait to get the keys and meet our new community, and I hope they’re as excited as we are,” he said.
