Auckland Airport has secured 4th place among the world’s top 10 airports in the 2025 SKYTRAX Airport Awards for the 10-20 million annual passenger category.

Auckland Airport was also ranked 46th for customer satisfaction among all airports worldwide.

SKYTRAX is a UK-based consultancy specialising in research and quality advisory services for the air transport industry. The company operates an airline and airport review website and conducts surveys among international travellers to assess and rate airports, airlines, airline lounges, in-flight entertainment, on-board catering, and various other aspects of air travel.

The SKYTRAX survey evaluates international airports worldwide for customer satisfaction, assessing traveller experiences across all stages of the journey—including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and departure at the gate.

Auckland Airport chief customer officer Scott Tasker described the SKYTRAX ranking in the World Airport Awards as “an awesome accolade for everyone working in our airport ecosystem – the Auckland Airport team, government border agencies, ground handlers, airlines, retail staff and the hundreds of other companies that help support the system to run smoothly.”

“This news comes on top of research findings in 2024 from global insights firm Ipsos that show 80% of New Zealanders think airports are the best-performing infrastructure in the country.”

“We’re committed to creating an airport that Kiwis are proud of, and we’re heartened travellers have recognised the value of the changes we’re delivering,” Tasker added.

Auckland Airport handles over 400 flight movements daily. Each year, aviation connections through the airport generate $35.1 billion in economic output from both international and domestic travel and tourism, while $26 billion in annual trade passes through the airport.
