The Trump Organisation, led by US President Donald Trump, has unveiled plans for a towering hotel and apartment complex on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Eric Trump, the firm’s executive vice president, predicts it will become the nation’s tallest structure at 335 metres (1,100 feet), surpassing London’s Shard.
This debut Australian project by the company promises “the prestige and allure of a world-class luxury brand,” as Eric Trump stated. Developer Altus Property Group oversees the 91-storey Trump International Hotel & Tower, Gold Coast, with a budget over $1 billion. Construction starts in August, featuring 285 hotel rooms, 272 luxury flats, high-end shops, restaurants, and a private beach club.
Rivalry brews nearby. The taller 101-storey One Park Lane twin towers at 385 metres prepare for a late-2026 launch, per Queensland approvals.

The Trump brand spans over 20 global sites, including the UK and Middle East. Critics highlight conflicts of interest tied to Trump’s presidency, despite his pledge to avoid business involvement.
A 2021 congressional probe found he “grossly exaggerated” DC hotel profits.
The report said the hotel lost more than $70 million during Trump’s first term in the White House, even though he had previously claimed it earned at least $150 million during that time.
The report also found Trump seemed to have “concealed potential conflicts of interest” related to his ownership of the hotel and his roles as its lender and the guarantor of third-party loans.
The Trump Organization denied wrongdoing and called the report “misleading.”
As Australia’s high-rise boom continues, the Trumps chase skyline dominance amid stiff competition.
