Faye Iosotaluno, the current chief executive officer of Tinder, is set to resign from her role this July, as she announced in a LinkedIn post. Her departure marks the end of a relatively short stint as CEO, although she has been with the company for nearly eight years.

In her message, Iosotaluno expressed pride in the team she helped build, saying she was “especially proud to build and work alongside an exceptional team.” She also revealed that her future plans are “deeply personal.”

“The consumer tech landscape is evolving in exciting, unpredictable ways—and so are my own ambitions. Building upon the headway and lessons I’ve learned at Tinder where diverse voices around the table make better and more impactful decisions, I’m drawn to replicating that progress by supporting and building alongside the next generation of women leaders, founders, and investors.”

Following her announcement, Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Tinder’s parent company Match Group, confirmed he would take over leadership of the Tinder team on an interim basis. Rascoff expressed gratitude for the transition period.

“I’m grateful for the time we’ve spent together over the past few months preparing for this news to ensure a smooth transition. As I step in to lead the team, I’m energized by the momentum you’ve helped create and excited to continue building with the exceptional leaders in place,” Rascoff said.

Match Group has recently been undergoing restructuring to improve efficiency and reduce costs. According to Bloomberg, the company announced a 13% reduction in its workforce earlier this month, with a substantial portion of these cuts affecting Tinder.

Tinder remains one of the most widely used dating apps globally, but the evolving market dynamics require continuous innovation and agility. Industry experts suggest that the leadership change and workforce adjustments are intended to position Tinder to better respond to these challenges and to explore new growth opportunities.

While Iosotaluno’s next steps have not been publicly disclosed, her emphasis on supporting women leaders and investors suggests she may focus on initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion within the technology sector.
