The Meat Box is no longer just a source for premium cuts. The family-owned business is growing its lineup to include fruit, vegetables, and everyday groceries, while continuing to attract customers nationwide.

Expanding into Complete Grocery Delivery

The brand has grown into a full-service grocery delivery business. Alongside premium cuts of beef, lamb, and chicken, customers can now receive fresh fish, ready-made meals, and a range of essentials including fruit, vegetables, sauces, cheese, and pantry items.

CEO Wayne Kennerley says:“We look forward to continuing to expand our meat, produce and complimentary grocery range to make it easier for Kiwis to get restaurant quality meat delivered fresh from us to their home.”

Reinforcing Commitment to Ethical and Local Sourcing

Locally sourced premium cuts remain central to The Meat Box’s approach. The company works with New Zealand producers to supply Wagyu, SpeckleBeef, and Duck, aiming to maintain high standards while supporting domestic agriculture.

“Being able to offer premium meat like Southern Stations NZ Wagyu, provides an easy way for consumers to get treat themselves or entertain at home and make a conscious choice to support New Zealand farmers,” said Kennerley. “Unfortunately, there is an increasing amount of meat being imported into New Zealand, we’re here to support Kiwi Farmers.”

Collaboration with Neat Meat

Neat Meat customers now have a new channel for accessing their favourite cuts, following a partnership with The Meat Box. The collaboration was prompted by the closure of Neat Meat’s online shop and reinforces both companies’ focus on quality and ethical sourcing.

“With the closure of our Online Shop, we wanted to find a like-minded company that allowed our customers to still enjoy these great products. The Meat Box is a family-owned company like ours, it believes in quality, so there was a natural fit,” said Joel Reichardt, Head of Sales and Marketing at Neat Meat.

Building Consumer Trust Through Local Values

The Meat Box stands out not just for its products, but for its values. It is a family-run business and continues to build trust with New Zealand consumers by prioritising quality, transparency, and community support.

The company has cemented itself as a reliable choice for discerning shoppers by focusing on local sourcing over imports and freshness over processing.

Growth remains front and centre for The Meat Box, with new additions underway and delivery systems being fine-tuned to reach more Kiwis with fresh, local food.
