Starting in June next year, Qantas will offer year-round flights from Auckland to Samoa and the Gold Coast.

This announcement comes after Qantas recently launched new services from Auckland to Adelaide and Perth and revealed its new lounge at Auckland International Airport.

“Auckland is one of our most important international hubs, and these announcements show the scale of investment and growth we’re making in New Zealand,” Qantas International & Freight chief executive Cam Wallace said.

“Combined with our new Auckland lounge soon to open and this weekend’s launch of flights to Perth, we’re giving Kiwi travellers more choice and premium experiences than ever before.”

Both routes will run three times a week, starting from 16 June.

Tickets are available for purchase today.

Qantas will operate the flights using Boeing 737 aircraft, making it the sole airline providing business class service from Auckland to the Gold Coast.

Meanwhile, the new lounge at Auckland is finished and is set to officially open next week. It’s 60% larger than the previous lounge and specifically designed to accommodate transit passengers and travellers heading to New York.

The design was created through a collaboration between Sydney-based Caon Design Office, Akin Atelier, and the New Zealand studio of Architectus.
