A housing development is set to rise in Dunedin on the site of the former Bayfield Bowling Club on Bayfield Road.
TGC Homes director Charles Blair said the 3200sqm site—named The Green—will feature 18 terraced townhouses.
He said the townhouses would include three-bedroom/two-bathroom and two-bedroom/two-bathroom options, all with garages, priced between $599,000 and $765,000.
The development would also convert the former bowling clubrooms into a community medical facility.
“Traditionally, in a development like this, we’ll sell about 50/50 to owner-occupiers versus investors,” Blair said.
“And most of the owner-occupiers that typically go into our entry-level townhouses are usually young couples with maybe a newborn, and they just want an easy, hassle-free, warm, dry place to start their family.”
Construction on the buildings is set to start in March and finish in November.
