Nestlé has recalled its imported Milo Dipped Snack Bars due to potential rubber contamination.

Reports indicate the rubber contamination originated from a machine.

The recalled batches are numbers 5316, 5317, and 5318 TD15, all with a best-before date of August 2026. These bars were produced in Australia, where they’ve also been recalled.

Consumers can return the bars to their place of purchase for a full refund or simply dispose of them.

New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) is supporting Nestlé with the recall.

“The concern with this product is that rubber pieces could cause choking,” acting NZFS deputy director-general Jenny Bishop said.

New Zealand Food Safety has received no reports of injuries linked to this issue.

“As is our usual practice, NZFS will work with Nestlé to understand how this happened and prevent its recurrence,” Bishop said.
