Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay has announced the first board members for Invest New Zealand, the country’s new agency dedicated to attracting investment.

Launched in July 2025, Invest New Zealand collaborates with multinational companies and international investors to attract talent, enterprises, expertise, and funding to the country. The agency also supports applicants for the Active Investor Plus Visa.

Rob Morrison will chair the board, with Carmel Fisher serving as deputy chair and members David Tapsell, Richard Hedley, Mary MacLeod, and Ross George.

“Invest New Zealand will be key to attracting high-quality foreign investment that drives innovation and economic growth and creates jobs,” McClay said.

“This board brings deep domestic and international sector knowledge, governance experience, and a commitment to New Zealand’s future.”

McClay expressed confidence that the new board will provide strong leadership and secure the investment New Zealand requires.

“Growing capital means growing production, jobs and the economy.”
