Elon Musk has agreed to settle a $128 million lawsuit filed by four former Twitter executives dismissed shortly after his 2022 takeover. The group includes ex-CEO Parag Agrawal, former CFO Ned Segal, Chief Legal Officer Vijaya Gadde, and former General Counsel Sean Edgett.
They claimed Musk withheld their severance pay after they challenged his attempt to abandon the $44 billion acquisition. The lawsuit cited Musk’s statement from his authorised biography that he would “hunt every single one” of Twitter’s C-suite “till the day they die.”
A recent court filing confirmed the settlement, though details remain confidential, and pending depositions and hearings were postponed.
This lawsuit follows another settlement Musk reached with about 6,000 former Twitter employees over $500 million in unpaid severance after extensive layoffs. Musk and his representatives deny wrongdoing, insisting the executives were dismissed for performance reasons.
The case shows the turbulent transition of Twitter under Musk’s leadership, marked by swift executive dismissals and legal disputes over severance rights amid massive company restructuring.
