Apple has officially scheduled its next major event for September 9, 2024, at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT, taking place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. The event, themed “It’s Glowtime,” is anticipated to launch the new iPhone 16 series.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to feature a new vertically aligned rear camera system, which has garnered positive feedback based on early dummy models. The Pro variants, namely the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, may see an increase in screen size while maintaining the established three-camera setup, with a potential introduction of a new bronze colour option.
All four models in the iPhone 16 lineup are likely to include the Action Button, which was previously exclusive to the Pro models of the iPhone 15. Additionally, there are rumours of a new button specifically for capturing photos and videos, although it remains uncertain whether this feature will be available on the standard models or reserved for the Pro versions.
Artificial intelligence will play a significant role in the event, with expectations that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will support Apple’s AI features, known as Apple Intelligence. These AI features were initially available only on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Apple is also rumoured to introduce the Apple Watch Series 10 and two new versions of AirPods in the upcoming event.
