AMD has unveiled cutting-edge AI processors and gaming chips at CES 2026, aiming to embed artificial intelligence into everyday computing and high-performance play.

Chair and CEO Lisa Su launched the keynote by stressing AI’s potential for universal access. The highlight was the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processors for PCs. AMD positions these as the path forward for AI-driven devices.

Unveiled on the event’s opening day, the chips excel in multitasking—1.3 times faster than competitors—and content creation, at 1.7 times the speed. They include 12 CPU cores and 24 threads for efficient handling of complex tasks.

This builds on the 2024 Ryzen AI 300 Series and the Ryzen line from 2017. Rahul Tikoo, senior vice president for client business, noted over 250 AI PC platforms now exist, doubled from last year.

“In the years ahead, AI is going to be a multi-layered fabric that gets woven into every level of computing at the personal layer,” Tikoo said. “Our AI PCs and devices will revolutionise how we work, play, create, and connect.”

AMD introduced the gaming-focused Ryzen 7 9850X3D alongside it. Tikoo explained AI’s daily impact: “No matter who you are and how you use technology on a daily basis, AI is reshaping everyday computing. You have thousands of interactions with your PC every day. AI is able to understand, learn context, bring automation, provide deep reasoning and personal customization to every individual.”

Systems with these processors launch in Q1 2026. AMD also upgraded its Redstone ray-tracing for superior game visuals without performance hits.
