President Donald Trump has shifted his position, urging House Republicans to back the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation.

On Sunday, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.” This comes ahead of a House vote on a bill requiring the Justice Department to disclose unclassified records tied to Epstein.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act aims to make public all relevant materials—including communications and investigative documents—connected to Epstein, the convicted paedophile financier. While mostly supported by Democrats, the bill is gaining traction among Republicans, with Congressman Thomas Massie estimating up to 100 GOP members could support it.

Trump expressed his stance shortly after returning from Florida, stating that the Justice Department had already released tens of thousands of pages on Epstein and insisting the House Oversight Committee be given access to all legally available information. He also called for Republicans to “GET BACK ON POINT,” and referenced well-known Democrats such as Bill Clinton in connection with Epstein.

The Justice Department is investigating Epstein’s links to prominent figures, including Clinton, who denies any involvement. JPMorgan Chase, previously associated with Epstein, has expressed regret for any connections but denies enabling his crimes.

Thousands of Epstein’s emails were recently made public by Congress, with reports showing Trump’s name appearing in many threads. Democrats argue Trump is attempting to deflect attention from his own ties to Epstein.
